Oranges Compete in (Another) Double Header

Following fixtures against Sheffield Trinity and Rotherham United Community Trust last weekend, Game Changer FC will once again embark on another fun filled weekend of back-to-back fixtures when they host consecutive fixtures against Steel City duo; Sheffield International and RvB Hillsborough.


Both matches ended in defeat, with Sheffield Trinity narrowly winning 2-1 in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Fair Play League, whilst Rotherham United got the better of the Oranges in the Flourish Cup, winning 7-2 – both matches played away from home!





This Saturday, the Changer team hosts Sheffield International in the Fair Play League and will be searching for their first points of the season, following an opening day defeat to Swallownest Bethesda (lost 11-2). Meanwhile, International come into this fixture having lost 1-0 on the opening day of the season at Doncaster Vulcan before winning 8-4 at home to Dronfield last weekend with Stephen Mayfield scoring a hat-trick.


The two sides have met previously on 8th April 2023 – which resulted in victory for the Sheffield side.


The 2023-24 campaign will be the clubs fourth consecutive season in Third Division of the Sheffield & District Fair Play League. In each in the last five seasons have mainly finished in midtable.

· 2022-23 – 8th (Division 3)

· 2021-22 – 9th (Division 3)

· 2020-21 – 8th (Division 3)

· 2019-20 – 6th (Division 4)

· 2018-19 – 3rd (Division 4)


On Sunday, 17th September the Oranges host RvB Hillsborough in the opening fixture of the Flourish League. Both sides will be aiming to set the ground running. Playing one league game each month, it’ll be a long, and tough, season.


Whilst sides are newcomers to the league, they aren’t unfamiliar with one another having participated in a friendly at Barnsley Academy on 18th June 2023, where Game Changer lost 7-2 at home to the S6 club.


The Hillsborough club come into this fixture following an 8-3 defeat to Farm Road FC in a friendly match last Sunday at Concord Park. They had also participated in a friendly on 2nd September – losing 7-3 at Sheffield FC Development Team.


Game Changer will be looking to earn maximum points from their two fixtures this weekends encounters. But, whatever the result, will have earned a rest. Due to other fixture commitments the following weeks Fair Play League against Mosborough Yellows has been arranged for a later date.
